To improve the air-quality, BMC chief had formed a special committee to formulate the strategy for implementing the mitigation plan. The committee along with a technical advisory team identified the major sources of air pollution and then recommended long-term and short-term measures.
In coming days, the temperature in city is likely to fall, said India Meterological Department due to an incoming western disturbance. IMD official said the temperature is likely to drop by 3-4 degrees.
Experts say that air quality is currently bad because of the low temperatures and weak winds along with the dust pollution due to construction activities and slow-moving traffic in the city.
