The patient who succumbed to Covid-19 was 36 years old and also had tuberculosis. This took the total toll of Covid-19 deaths in Mumbai to 19,749 as of April 6. In Maharashtra, a total of 803 patients were detected with novel coronavirus on Thursday, with total three fatalities.
The experts have said that the newer Omicron variants are milder but advised people to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour and asked them to consult doctors if they show symptoms.
Maharashtra Covid cases update: Mumbai circle led with 171 of the new cases, followed by 95 in Pune circle, Latur (29), Nagpur (22), Nashik (20), Akola (17), Kolhapur (14) and Aurangabad (11).
Mumbai had also recorded a jump of 50% in fresh infections, as the metropolitan on Thursday recorded 2,479 new cases. On Wednesday, the financial capital had recorded 1,648 cases.
