PETALING JAYA: With banks warning that online transactions might be slower as a result of added security measures, consumer groups say the slight inconvenience is still worth it if it means one’s money is protected.
It said offences in relation to the sale of personal data are punishable by a fine not exceeding RM500,000 or imprisonment not exceeding three years, or both, under Section 130 of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

It has been reported that complaints related to broadband will receive immediate attention from the Malaysia communication regulator.
According to a report by Bernama, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will respond by sending its officers to areas facing broadband connectivity problems within 24 hours upon receiving the complaints.
Its chairman, Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek said by doing so, MCMC could check and really look into the problems in the areas and also contact the complainants for further input.
