In the run up to the BRICS foreign ministers meeting on Tuesday, India, the current holder of BRICS presidency, worked painstakingly to create a document on multilateral reforms – six founding principles of the grouping that represents over three billion people, ET has reliably gathered.
Each of the four other member states were taken on board and consensus was created on the Indian initiative to issue a document with concrete proposals for reforms of bodies including WTO, WHO, IMF and UN, ET has learnt. This is a landmark document under India’s BRICS presidency, a source explained.
