Influential politicians backing land-grabbers: Widow, daughter appeal PM, CM for retrieving land

MULTAN: A widow from Rahim Yar Khan and her daughter have appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Supreme Court chief justice, Lahore High Court chief justice, COAS and IG Punjab Police for helping them in vacating their ancestral land occupied by land-grabbers allegedly backed by influential politicians in the district.
They further said culprits should be arrested and the administration should recover their land lease amount from the alleged occupant Rashid Korai and their land should be handed over to them. Addressing a press conference at the Multan Press Club Thursday, widow Shahida Tasneem Durrani and her daughter Hina Khurshid Durrani said influential land-grabbers in Rahim Yar Khan were ‘using’ names of Industries and Production Minister Khusro Bakhtiar and provincial Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht for grabbing lands of poor people. MULTAN: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) president Prof Dr Masood Haraj Wednesday said Nishtar Hospital, Multan, was in immediate need of medicines, equipment, doctors and paramedical staff for coronavirus patients.
Addressing a joint press conference at Multan Press Club, Dr Haraj said at Nishtar Hospital even antiviral injections were not available for the treatment of coronavirus patients and medicines for genera patients were also in severe short supply.
He said the most basic components that are used in the treatment of coronavirus patients were not available at Nishtar Hospital.
He said Punjab was currently suffering from the third wave of coronavirus and COVID-19 patients were increasing rapidly. ....

MULTAN: Eight more coronavirus patients died at Nishtar Hospital, Multan, during the last 24 hours.
Muhammad Ramazan, 62, Naseeba Bibi, 80, Kazeez Bibi, 53, Hajran Bibi, 55, Ameeran Fatima, 90, and a man of 75 year-old, all from Multan, Jameela Bibi, 50, of Khanewal and Azizullah, 45, from Vehari were tested positive for coronavirus and during treatment they died at the hospital.
According to the hospital officials, the coronavirus death toll has reached to 89 during the last 20 days.
According to the Nishtar Hospital statistics, some 225 coronavirus patients, including 104 confirmed positive, 57 suspects and 64 patients of negative reports were at the hospital.
According to the statistics, coronavirus patients have occupied 225 beds out of 255 in the hospital and were using 61 ventilators at Nishtar Hospital. ....
