Facebook has removed several Egypt-based accounts from its social media platforms that targeted Turkey, Sudan and Ethiopia, according to the company s latest report on deceptive campaigns.
The social media giant reported in its Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour (CIB) for March, published on 6 April, that it removed 14 networks suspected of spreading misinformation - including accounts originating from Iran and Israel. ....

US senators, including several Democrats, rebuked the Iranian government at a virtual event hosted by an advocacy group linked to Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), an Iranian opposition body previously designated as a terrorist organisation by Washington.
Speaking at a celebration of the upcoming Persian new year Nowruz and organised by the MEK-aligned Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC), senior US lawmakers called for continued sanctions and pressure against Tehran.
The event on Wednesday, which comes at a time when the Biden administration is trying to revive the Iran nuclear deal, highlights the hostility towards Tehran from both major parties. ....

(CNSNews.com) – Piqued by rare European criticism, Iran’s foreign ministry on Sunday summoned the German and French ambassadors to complain about their protests over the execution of a Paris-based dissident journalist, accusing their governments of siding with terrorists.
Earlier, the French foreign ministry had called Saturday’s hanging of Ruhollah Zam “a barbaric and unacceptable act that goes against the country’s international commitments.” ....
