Dalindyebo was arrested in March last year for allegedly assaulting his son, prince Azenathi Dalindyebo, in an incident that allegedly involved him wielding an axe and machete at the Bumbane Great Place.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Luxolo Tyali said the monarch informed the court he was ill and the warrant of arrest was stayed until his next court appearance on 10 March 2021 for his medical certificate.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for AbaThembu king Buyelekaya Dalindyebo after he failed to appear in the Mthatha Magistrate s Court on Thursday.
The warrant of arrest had been stayed until his next court appearance, said National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Luxolo Tyali. The court was informed that he is ill. A warrant of arrest was then issued but it was stayed until he brings a medical certificate.
Tyali said the case was postponed to 10 March.
In March last year, City Press reported Dalindyebo allegedly went on a rampage in the Bumbane Great Place.
Two male suspects aged 29 and 57 were caught in an Integrated Operation led by the SAPS on 21 January 2021 in Waterfall Park, Ngangelizwe in OR Tambo District.
According to information, the 57-year-old male suspect was busted by the police who acted on crime intelligence information and will be charged for possession and dealing in dagga, whilst the 29-year-old suspect will be charged for possession and dealing in drugs.
During the operation, the police also made some recoveries which included Tik, 576 bompies, and dagga.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court on Monday 25 January 2021, once they are charged.
