AN elderly Greenock couple are living in fear of their crumbling ceiling completely collapsing on top of them after a recent near miss. Eighty-four-year-old Muriel and Ian Riddell were almost clattered by falling debris in their kitchen - after a similar incident happened in the bathroom. They say their nightmare has been ongoing for 15 months after work was carried out on the roof of the flats where they have lived for more than 50 years. The couple say they have been in limbo because they can t get to the source of the problem. Muriel, of Hope Street, said: The roof needed fixed and repairs were carried out.
