The Lok Sabha closed its Winter Session Thursday, a day early, after a tumultuous fortnight that saw a security scare, 146 opposition MPs suspended, and the passage of contentious bills, including three overhauling India's criminal jurisprudence.
Over 140 opposition MPs suspended this week and last took out a protest march Thursday morning from the old Parliament to Vijay Chowk in central Delhi, carrying a large banner that read "Save Democracy".
