Evelyn Rose Free, age 88, a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
Mrs. Free grew up in Polk County and she was the daughter of the late Irene Beard Rose and Winston Rose. Her husband, LaVern Free; son, Frankie Free; sister, Barbara Rose; and brother, Jay Rose, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Free sold real estate for a number of years and she served as manager for the Ocoee Village Apartments for more than 20 years. She was very active in her community and she was the first woman to serve on Polk County School Board. She enjoyed shopping and going for walks but most of all, she enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her family. Mrs. Free was a member of the Cloverleaf Baptist Church. ....
