Main Street 1892: The Mote House is constructed for about $9,000 for Edward and his wife, Lucretia.  1908: The Motes move from the home and Bishop Henry Clay Morrison buys it as a retirement residence. Electricity is added to the house, along with several other changes while the Morrisons owned it: They removed gingerbread shingles.
