following fast phone call that sounded like the real deal. i mean, i have never seen anything like it. it is unreal. report a massive police response on the boston university campus shortly after 8:00 this morning. nervous. very nervous. at the same time, it seems to be all too common. reporter: b.u. police received a call from a man with a foreign accent claiming he was in a booby-trapped room on the fourth floor of the libra avenue, telling police he already shot a hostage. a call came in someone shot. it is very alarming. and that is why, you know, you can see how serious we took it. reporter: tactical teams sealed off the area before sweeping all six floors of the building. then determining the call was a hoax. police say what s so unusual here is the caller stayed on the phone with the dispatcher for several minutes. the call did come to the b.u. police station. it was not a robo-call. it was an actual person reporter: frustrated police say they have no cho
