Morristown Daily Record MORRISTOWN Morristown s affordable housing plan is under review by the Fair Share Housing Center after the township failed to provide a progress report that was due last July. The nonprofit organization tasked with enforcing The Mount Laurel Doctrine housing regulations filed a court motion against the township last month. The township provided the report last week, but the year delay is rare, said Adam Gordon, executive director for Fair Share Housing Center. There were a number of towns that were a few months late, but a year I think is pretty rare, Gordon said. More than 330 towns across the state have agreements and affordable housing plans. Known as the midpoint realistic opportunity review report, the progress report is to ensure municipalities are on track to comply with their affordable housing requirements set by a 2017 court-mandated settlement agreement between FSHC and New Jersey municipalities.
