The COVID-19 outbreak at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital has expanded to 10 patients testing positive for the virus, prompting the hospital to suspend elective services effective Sunday.
In a March 7 news release, the LWDH says that all non-essential and elective outpatient services will be suspended for 14 days. Services that can be delivered virtually will be explored, the hospital said. LWDH will reach out to anyone who was scheduled to attend an appointment. Services such as dialysis and chemotherapy will carry on amid the outbreak.

An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital has grown to at least 10 patients testing positive.
Officials with the Kenora hospital announced on Sunday that the outbreak was first declared one day earlier with two initial cases.
