Chile’s Ventisquero Wine Estates has appointed North South Wines to distribute its Ventisquero branded wines in the UK, which include the Clasico, Grey and Enclave labels.
North South Wines will now distribute Ventisquero’s portfolio, which comprises entry level brand Clasico, mid-range brand Grey and the top-end Vertice, Pangea and Enclave brands.
Commenting on the news, Francisco Ruidiaz, UK sales director at VWE, said: “We are really looking forward to working with North South Wines. They have shown themselves to be a dynamic and resilient importer, having gone from strength to strength, in spite of last year’s challenges. As a winery, we are adaptable and innovative and see a natural synergy between our two companies. The future is looking bright for Ventisquero in the UK.”
Chile is an ideal country to develop sustainable viticulture. It has a Mediterranean climate with lots of sunshine and little rain, perfect for growing grapes. With a wide range of landscapes including mountains, deserts, and valleys Chileans can plant different grape varieties.
In addition, Chile has a long wine production history. So, in this South American country, nature and culture combine in a solid wine tradition.
“Like many other things in Latin America, the history of Chilean wine begins with the arrival of the Spaniards, who introduced the first vines to the valleys around 1550,” said Pablo Ugarte, a Chilean wine specialist and taster.
