A woman who complained to the state that Monroe County Legislator Ernest Flagler-Mitchell offered to help her regain custody of her children in exchange for sex in his legislature office has now filed a complaint claiming that Monroe County Legislator Rachel Barnhart gave her name to a television reporter. The woman, the victim of alleged sexual misconduct, did not want to be publicly identified in part so as not to endanger her efforts to get her children back. The woman claims that Barnhart gave a television reporter her name, on condition that the reporter not disclose that Barnhart had been the source. The reporter later told the woman that Barnhart had been the source, the complaint states.

UPDATE: Monroe County Legislator Ernest Flagler-Mitchell released a statement Friday morning, saying he will be temporarily stepping down as leader of the Black and Asian Democratic Caucus of the Monroe County Legislature. The Democratic legislator for the 29th Legislative District said the decision was made "in order to better deal with personal matters. " Legislator Calvin Lee, Jr. will be taking over as acting leader.
