Englishtown officials hire company to improve roads Englishtown officials hire company to improve roads ENGLISHTOWN – The Englishtown Borough Council has awarded a contract for a project to reconstruct three borough roads. During a recent meeting, council members awarded a $435,413 contract to Earle Asphalt, Wall Township, for the reconstruction of Hamilton Street, Heritage Drive and Raymond Court. Earle Asphalt was awarded the contract as the lowest responsible bidder, according to a resolution. According to Borough Engineer Thomas Herits, other bids were submitted by S. Brothers ($446,229) and Esposito Construction ($458,448). Herits recommended that the council award the contract to Earle Asphalt. To help pay for the work, Englishtown has received grants totaling $304,0000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation, according to the resolution.
