Als zu milde empfindet der Generalsekretär von Amnesty International (ai) Österreich, Heinz Patzelt, das Urteil gegen sechs Polizisten in Wien, die im Jänner 2019 einen Tschetschenen in einem Spiellokal in Favoriten ohne ersichtlichen Grund geschlagen hatten. Die Beamten erhielten am Montag am Landesgericht allesamt bedingte Strafen zwischen acht und zwölf Monaten. „Eine bedingte Strafe ist ein blaues Auge“, sagte Patzelt dazu am Dienstag.
Mit dem Strafausmaß blieb das Gericht unter der Schwelle von mehr als einem Jahr, das im Fall der Rechtskraft der Urteile - die Staatsanwaltschaft gab dazu vorerst keine Erklärung ab - automatisch mit dem Amtsverlust für die betreffenden Beamten verbunden wäre. Damit obliegt es nun der Disziplinarkommission, wie es mit den betroffenen Polizisten weiter geht. Die beiden Hauptangeklagten sind derzeit suspendiert. Seitens der Wiener Polizei hieß es dazu am Dienstag auf Anfrage der APA, es gelte nun abzuwarten, ob ....
