UCSB swimmers recorded three individual second-place finishes, but the Gauchos men and women both dropped to fourth place in the team standings after the second day at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships at Cal Poly.
The UCSB men have 186 points and trail BYU (302.5), Hawaii (301) and Cal Poly (208.5). The women, with a 190 points, sit behind Hawaii (305), BYU (273) and UC Davis (198).
Dominic Falcon was runner-up in the men s 500 freestyle (4:26.92) for UCSB and sophomore Christian Martinez was second in the 50 free (20.13). In addition, the quartet of Tim Lee, Martinez, Zach Dietz, and Ryan Levy grabbed the second spot in the 200 free relay (1:20.38). Men s team captain Dan Marella secured third place in the 500 Free (4:27.35). ....
