Longest-Ever Frozen Embryo on Ice for 27 Years Makes It Full Term, Born to Tennessee Couple An East Tennessee baby’s birth set a new record for the longest-ever frozen embryo to come to full term. Molly Everette Gibson was born to Tina and Ben Gibson. Until the couple visited the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC), Molly had been frozen for 27 years as a preserved embryo. The embryo was frozen on Oct. 14, 1992, and remained in status until Feb. 10, 2020, when she was thawed by NEDC and transferred to her mother’s womb two days later. On Oct. 26, the couple had a safe delivery. Molly was born healthy, weighing in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces (approx. 3 kg) and measuring 19 inches long.
