Pressure from investors has been one of the main forces pushing companies to address climate change and the transition to lower-carbon energy. The responses have ranged from assessments of the possible impact of the Paris climate agreement, to diversification into renewable energy, to new goals for cutting emissions.

Ultimately, election night resulted in an easy victory for Mayor Ron Nirenberg, five runoffs for city council seats, the approval of Proposition A and a close race for Proposition B, which failed to pass.

Thats according to a new survey of 2,000 Americans, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of BJs Wholesale Club (NYSE: BJ), that revealed nearly three in four Americans say they are planning on making this holiday season as special as they can. According to the survey, six in ten Americans have specifically been saving up in order to make the holidays special this year and that creative gift-giving is one way to do that. BJs survey showed that 60 percent of Americans expect to receive more creative gifts than ever before.
