The bulk of that will be later this afternoon, especially as we head into tonight. rain, however, is still going to be the biggest concern with this storm. widespread amounts of around a 5 to 10i isnches of rain. it s not just on the coast. that color extends even into places like tennessee. you have other states that are going to be impacted by this incredibly heavy rainfall because it s moving so slow. it s taking a while to make landfall, but it also means it s going to slowly move throughout other states and dump a significant amount of rain as well. that s why you have over 10 million people under a flood watch right now and it likely going to stay that way for the next several days. as the moisture moves into the southeast, it pushes into places like the ohio valley, impacting more states, taking a lot of that moisture with it. ....
Start moving this forward and the storm itself comes inland, that moisture moves to the midwest, then it nooumoves to t northeast. this is going to be a big impactful storm for places along the gulf. where the gulf is concerned, especially the gulf coast states, it s a lot of the rivers, the rainfall comes down. you have a flood concern there. baton rouge, for example, they have three big rivers that run in or around that city, all three of them are expected to get to major flood stage with in storm. one of them is expected to break its all time record high crest on tuesday. yes, you heard me correctly, tuesday, that s because for a lot of these storms, it s a delayed effect. and that s going to be one of the other concerns. the short-term impact, it s going to be the storm surge as well as the heavy rainfall that comes down, but fred, the river flooding, unfortunately, is going to be a problem that may linger for weeks. all right. keep us posted on all of that, allison, thank you ve ....
Moisture coming towards texas and louisiana, that tropical thing we are keeping an eye on, whether it is a depression or storm it will bring a lot of rainfall. in terms of severe weather, large hail and damaging wind, isolated tornadoes across the ohio river valley, the mid-atlantic and marginal risk that extends from texas northward. tornado threat not a big deal but we can see straight line wind damage, and isolated tornado, flooding is the big concern, tropical moisture moves toward texas, louisiana, mississippi and all of that rainfall downward across the mississippi river valley from all the rain of the last couple weeks. all that tropical moisture moving inland through sunday, a bit of rainfall. there is the forecast. not much, usually you see colors but gray. it looks a little gray. mostly sunny anyway. ....
