NSW Liberal senator Andrew Bragg has lodged a request for ASIC’s submission to the government’s quality of advice review after it was only released in heavily redacted form.
Confident she mostly has it right, Quality of Advice Review lead Michelle Levy is weeks away from delivering her final recommendations to Treasury with only minor changes planned to make sure the proposals are fit for purpose.
Treasury’s assessment of the financial advice regulatory system is that it’s been built backwards off the presumption of guilt rather than creating a balanced system, showing there is support from the government for the Quality of Advice Review proposals.
