Kelantan Youth Drowned From Exhaustion When Ferrying Flood Victims To Safety

Mohammad Hakimin Rahim was said to be ferrying friends to a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Kampung Manjor when he collapsed from exhaustion and fell into the water at around 10 pm. According to his mother, Mohammad Hakimin was paddling the raft together with his friends when the incident occurred, and it took several moments before they realised what had happened. Unable to see clearly in the dark and with flood currents raging, all they could do was turn the back around to inform other villagers.

There are also those who waded through the flood water from their home to the relief centres, he said, adding that in doing so, the flood victims are actually exposing themselves to danger.
