A 20-year-old Kelantan youth tragically drowned after falling off a raft while helping flood victims in his village on Wednesday (6 January).
Mohammad Hakimin Rahim was said to be ferrying friends to a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Kampung Manjor when he collapsed from exhaustion and fell into the water at around 10 pm.

According to his mother, Mohammad Hakimin was paddling the raft together with his friends when the incident occurred, and it took several moments before they realised what had happened. Unable to see clearly in the dark and with flood currents raging, all they could do was turn the back around to inform other villagers.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 7): The flood situation on the East Coast, especially in Terengganu, has gotten worse as of tonight with water levels rising in the town of Chukai, Kemaman, and more than 10,000 people from the district evacuated to flood relief centres.
Most of the roads in the Chukai town have also been closed to light vehicles since 7pm, and traders have started moving their goods due to fears of a sudden rise in water-level if it continues to rain heavily.
Kelantan is also experiencing a similar situation as almost 6,000 people have been evacuated in the state so far, with the city of Kota Bharu expected to be hit by floods beginning midnight.

The body of a man who was helping to evacuate flood victims in Kampung Manjor using a boat last night was found today at 8.30am.
Mohammad Hakimin Rahim, 20, was found by family members where he reportedly fell off the boat after he fainted from fatigue.
