New Mexico Makes Gas Stations Liable For Drunk Drivers

It s the second state to do so. Many states have laws on the books about bartenders or bar owners serving alcohol to someone who s visibly impaired. There are different rules for different jurisdictions, but generally if the patron is served when drunk, and gets in an accident, the bar can be held liable. Only one state has the same rule for gas station attendants, Tennessee. That was until Monday when the New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that service stations can now be liable for intoxicated drivers. The case came from a federal appeals court to New Mexico, because of case of a drunk driver in 2011. The driver came to the station for gas, but it had no gas cans to sell. He then purchased a gallon of water, emptied it, filling it with gas. He came back later and filled up his car, before dropping off his passenger. He then entered the highway, crossed the center lane and crashed, killing the occupant of the opposing vehicle.

Tesla Claims The 1,020-HP Model S Plaid Will Arrive Very Soon

Tesla The Plaid s specs are groundbreaking if they turn out to be accurate. Tesla promises a 1,020 horsepower tri-motor setup with all-wheel-drive, yielding a 390-mile estimated driving range, 200 mph top speed, and 1.99-second 0-60 mph time. We ve seen Tesla s prices are subject to sudden change, but the Model S Plaid is currently listed at $119,990 before savings. White is the only no-cost paint option, and the optional 21-inch wheels add $4,500 to the price while dropping the driving range to 350 miles. An all-black interior comes standard with carbon fiber or wood trim, while black/white or cream interior colors cost $2,000. Finally, customers can spend $10,000 on the Full Self-Driving Capability, a feature that still does not exist in the capacity Tesla describes.

Tesla Delays Deliveries Of Model S and Model X

Hurry up and wait Tesla seems to be defying the odds by retaining its spot as the world s most valuable automaker. For the first three months of the year, the California-based EV manufacturer posted record-breaking deliveries despite challenges posed by the coronavirus and the ongoing microchip shortage affecting numerous manufacturers across the globe. However, this run looks to be at an end as Tesla is being forced to delay deliveries of its Model S and Model X vehicles. When the refreshed models were unveiled at the start of 2021, Tesla CEO Elon Musk told the media that deliveries would commence in a few weeks time, but that has clearly not happened, and now that promise is being pushed further back.
