'Cultivate forgotten crops to tackle climate change' | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: Forgotten crops have to be readdressed and cultivated to tackle the problem of climate change, speakers at the 21st Mobile Biodiversity Festival of Deccan Development Society (DDS) said at the closing event on Monday at Machnoor in Jharasangam mandal on Sangareddy district.
Co-director of DDS Jayasri Cherukuri said the festival of the women farmers was being celebrated for the last 20 years. Three women farmers were honoured for their contribution towards ecological agriculture and climate. Maisannagari Ratnamma, Moligeri Chandramma and Begari Sangamma have been cultivating millets for several years.
