KATHMANDU, May 6: Upendra Yadav, the chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and Minister for Health and Population, is returning to Kathmandu today, after cutting short his foreign tour upon receiving the party’s split news. He is scheduled to depart for Kathmandu tonight from Doha, the capital of Qatar.
KATHMANDU, MAY 6: Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has called a meeting of the parliamentary party to address the recent split in Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).
During protest rallies, all major parties in the state, the YSRCP, TDP, JSP have extended their support to VUPPC workers but BJP stayed away. BJP leaders have repeatedly stated that the Union government has decided to stop the disinvestment plans, but they failed to gain trust from the VSP employees. CM Ramesh, a former bureaucrat and BJP’s candidate for Anakapalli Lok Sabha Constituency, recently reiterated the same.
Bhuvaneshwari, daughter of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao has mostly stayed away from active politics. However, when Chandrababu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (APCID) on September 9, 2023, for his alleged involvement in the AP skill development case, Bhuvaneshwari and Brahmani started interacting with party cadres across the state. After spending 53 days at Rajahmundry central prison the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted Chandrababu temporary bail on October 31.
