Apr 22, 2021 A family in South Africa is grateful for their dog, who became a hero by saving their other dog from drowning. Byron Thanarayen and his wife weren’t at their home in Boksburg City at the time, and when they returned and found both dogs wet, they were confused. So they checked security camera footage and saw the whole thing unfold. The video shows their smaller dog, Chuky, falling into the backyard pool. Luckily, their larger dog, Jessie, was right there and started working to save him. He kept trying to rescue Chuky, but apparently, his wet fur kept causing him to slide out of Jessie’s mouth. ....
Apr 21, 2021 A father in the U.K. woke up early to get his three-year-old son a glass of milk and then saved seven people from a fire. Aaron Gray spotted the blaze at his neighbor’s home from his window at five in the morning and immediately called emergency services, then rushed to rescue them. Everyone was asleep at the neighbor’s house, so Gray had a tough time waking them up, but after kicking, punching and banging the door and windows, they heard him. He was able to get the two women and five kids out safely and no one was hurt. And he made it in the nick of time as minutes later, their house was engulfed in flames. ....

Apr 19, 2021 Love was in the air at the Applewood Continuing Care retirement community in Freehold, New Jersey. Last year, Bill Biega and Iris Ivers fell for each other and they couldn’t be happier. The couple is in their 90s - he’s 98 and she’s 91 - and the pandemic really brought them closer. Especially after he got caught sneaking out of her apartment! Their community was under stay-at-home orders last spring when a security guard caught Bill going home after a visit with Iris. They were told they could move in together or stay apart indefinitely, so they chose to be together and have been living at his place ever since. The couple started off as friends, they’d met years ago playing bridge, and after both of their spouses passed away, they realized sparks were flying between them. ....
