Mesa Arts Center Watson, an opera singer and comedian known for her operatic arrangements of hip-hop songs, will put on a show at 7:30 p.m. as part of Mesa Arts Center s Performing Live series. The performance will show off her vocal ability, improv skills, and comedic talent. The event is virtual, and tickets are $10. Musical Instrument Museum Minnesota folk-blues artist Parr will come to the Valley on Friday for a show at the Musical Instrument Museum s Music Theater. Parr tells meaningful stories through song, and has been signed to Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. The 7 p.m. show will have socially distanced seating, and masks are required. Alison Daniels One of the first performers was Daniels best friend, Kim Weston. Weston sings in a sultry voice and plays a mean violin. Inspired by Norah Jones, she performs jazz-leaning tunes, including covers of John Mayer and Bruno Mars. “I do a lot of weddings and private events,” Weston says. “I had all of those booked, and unfortunately, they all had to rebook some of them until fall 2021 or 2022.” When Daniels extended the invitation in April, Weston leaped at the chance. She often performs at 528 Live with the Jazz Boys: Rich Kniss on guitar, Sean Brogan on upright bass, and Connor Sample on drums. ....
