Parts of the spirits of our ancestors festival. We spoke with organizer Joycelynn Davis. The spirit of our ancestors festival is a day to set aside to commemorate the descendents of the clotilda. Various festivals that started back in the 1980s from the original founders of the descendents association, and i guess it stopped for a while, so i decided to start it up again. And i was reading the book, the flagship clotilda and the makers of africatown. That is how i came up with the title. I was looking for a title, but you know, a lot of things were not ringing a bell.
