Marty Marsh retires from Springfield district, joins MSHSAA staff

Marty Marsh, who oversaw a major expansion of extracurricular offerings for Springfield middle school students, has been hired as assistant executive director of the Missouri State High School Activities Association, or MSHSAA.
Marsh, assistant director of athletics and student activities in Springfield, will retire from the district this summer. He will start the new job July 1.
It has certainly been an honor to serve the students of Springfield Public Schools for 26 years. It s truly a highlight of my life, Marsh recently told the school board. As I ve said many times, I leave this job with mixed emotions.
Marsh was recognized at the board meeting Tuesday because he was recently named the Missouri Middle School Athletic Director of the Year by the Missouri Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. ....
