nadia romero at hartsfield jackson in atlanta. we ve seen the lines stretch all day. what are people saying about their travel this weekend? reporter: yeah, well it is a really a mixed bag, ryan. you talked to some people who may sort of come to the airport, a lot earlier than normal. one couple came three hours early just to make sure they were able to make their flight. but we also heard from a gentleman who is just trying to get from atlanta to vegas. his flight has been canceled now three times. he was supposed to leave at 8:00 a.m., and now put on a flight at 7:00 p.m. he no longer has a hotel so he s going to hang out at the airport all day hoping to get on the last flight out tonight. and he s no too happy with the airlines and how things have gone so far. we saw the busiest amount of people and the most people at the tsa checkpoint this morning during that 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. hour. if you could see behind me, where people are checking in to delta here, getting b ....
service are backing up the bombshell testimony from a former trump white house aide that an irate president trump demanded to go to the capitol on january 6th. since cassidy hutchinson went under oath, there has been an ongoing campaign by trump and his allies to discredit her testimony about what she saw and heard on january 6th. cnn has now spoken with two secret service employees who both say they also heard about a confrontation inside the presidential suv that day, a story they say spread widely around the agency in the weeks and months that followed january 6th. they say trump indeed demanded to be taken to the capitol and when the secret service said no to the trip, trump berated his security detail, saying something to the effect of, i m the effing president of the united states, you can t tell me what to do. the other concerning development is the new information about who may have been pressuring hutchinson ahead of her sworn testimony. a source tells cnn one ....
welcome to our viewers on pbs in america and around the globe. the acclaimed british author sir salman rushdie has sustained serious injuries to his liver and an eye after being stabbed while taking to the stage at an arts centre in new york. the 75 year old is currently on a ventilator and unable to speak. police have named his attacker as hadi matar, a 24 year old from newjersey who is currently in custody. our north america correspondent john sudworth reports. there was confusion and panic. the attack happened in full view of the audience. sir salman was left injured, lying on stage, and eyewitnesses in deep shock. there was nothing audible from the attacker. we just saw him move on stage very quickly and, repeatedly and with vicious determination, stabbed salman rushdie. people were rising up out of their seats, gasping, crying and screaming and this unheard of thing was happening on stage. salman rushdie was taken to hospital by helicopter. he had been due to speak ....
