A computer virus hit Japanese carmaker Honda this week, disrupting its internal computer networks, closing factories around the world and cutting employees off from email or internal servers.
While Honda has declined to name the attackers or the tools they used, cybersecurity analysts said the attack appears to have been carried out by software designed to attack the control systems for a wide variety of industrial facilities, such as factories and power plants. Previously, such cyber weapons were only known to be used by state agents.
