Yvette Herrell, R-N.M., and other state GOP leaders of continuing to “dodge the press.” The allegations are false and a bit hypocritical. There is a member of the state’s congressional delegation who appears to be dodging the press, but it isn’t Herrell. Herrell has given numerous interviews to media outlets throughout the state since she was elected in November. She’s tried to explain what has been her most controversial action: her objection to the results of the 2020 presidential election. And her office has also provided responses to specific questions the Journal and other media outlets have asked. ....

President Joe Biden on Friday received his second letter of the week from lawmakers in Rocky Mountain states raising concerns about the Air Force’s decision to locate the U.S. Space Command headquarters in Alabama. New Mexico Sens. Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Luján and U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, all Democrats, wrote Biden asking for a “comprehensive review” of the decision. Earlier in the week, Biden received a similar letter from Colorado’s congressional delegation. Both Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs and Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque were on the final list of six cities under consideration for the headquarters. Lawmakers on the House of Representatives’ State Government, Elections and Indian Affairs Committee voted 6-3 to advance a bill that would allow all registered voters to cast ballots in primaries. Under the measure, independent voters and those registered with a minority party could simply request a ballot from one of the major parties, with no requirement to alter the party affiliation on their registration. ....
