With only 472 days to next year’s General Election, political players are increasingly entertaining debate on the possibility of a delayed poll.
This is largely informed by a congested calendar of political and legal activities ahead of the polls, scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Alive to the sensitivity of the subject and technicalities involved, parliamentary leadership is however cautious.
“It will be good if we can do that (delay the polls), at least for smooth execution of parliamentary tasks at hand. But again, our hands are tied on this,” Senate Majority Leader Samuel Poghisio told  ....

When he took over from Henry Rotich as the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury, Ukur Yatani was likened to the biblical Moses in that he was seen as the man to deliver Kenya out of what some analysts have described as “Eurobondage.”

Summary
The National Assembly will Tuesday afternoon approve the appointment of seven MPs to the powerful 12-member House Business Committee (HBC).
The HBC is the top decision making organ of the National Assembly. It sets the day to day agenda of business to be transacted by the House.
The seven MPs who sat in the committee chaired by Speaker Justin Muturi during the 4th Session have been reappointed to serve for a further one year.
