Faces: Good people and LSBE students

Bud Krause have been recognized by Jacqueline Wacker, coordinator of the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency’s Meals on Wheels program. The men have volunteered in Duluth for years, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, they’ve both turned it up a notch, Wacker said. Adkins has been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels since 2013. He said he loves visiting with the people on his route. Krause began volunteering with the program in 2015. Before retiring, he had worked for The City of Duluth Water and Gas Department for 38 years. Krause also has volunteered with the city of Duluth Senior Programs by serving on the Senior Programs Advisory Board and assisting with parties, bingo and social activities at Morgan Park, Po ....

Registration now open for the Minnesota High School Equestrian Association season


Sign-up is now to May 31 and all competitors who sign up get a free T-shirt.

The Minnesota High School Equestrian Association board of directors announced registration is open for the 2021 season.
Students in eighth through 11th grade this spring can join the Minnesota High School Equestrian Association. Various disciplines and associations include Western Saddle Clubs Association, polo, jumping, Western, English and hunter pleasure plus equitation and showmanship.
Competitors who meet various equestrian association criteria are eligible for recognition and varsity level competitors may be eligible for a letter through their high school. Sign-up is now through May 31 and all competitors who sign up get a free T-shirt, the association stated in a news release. ....
