Junior Eric (Min San Thu) is from Myanmar, and is interning with Rochester-based Collider, telling the stories of startups from opening up shop, to overcoming adversity and even their struggles, especially within the last year, through the Rochester Rising platform. ....
Luther College student works to tell the stories of Rochester entrepreneurs Search: April 30, 2021 Luther College student Eric (Min San Thu) has been working to tell the stories of Rochester small businesses as a storytelling intern with Collider, a Rochester non-profit organization with a mission to activate, connect and empower early-stage entrepreneurs. Eric s stories explain how these entrepreneurs got started and how they are staying resilient through the pandemic. I am mainly responsible for interviewing existing and emerging entrepreneurs in Rochester, said Eric. I write stories about how they started their business, how they overcame adversities and COVID-19 challenges, how they adapted by changing their business models, and I include their personal advice on how to be successful in entrepreneurship. ....
Luther College students from Myanmar share fears related to the military coup Search: February 8, 2021 Four Luther College students who call Myanmar “home” are speaking out to help people understand what is happening in their country. This month, the military of Myanmar seized control of the country after a short and popular democratic experiment that began in 2011. The military has now regained full control and has shut off internet communications and flights, making it difficult for Nora Nyi Myint, Min San Thu (Eric San), Thawdar Zin and Myo Kaung to reach their family. Now, these four students are sharing their stories and the current fears they have for their country. ....
