Nearby buildings. Most buildings in this area are businesses that have been evacuated. We just received an update from the Fire Department and they believe there is no imminent danger. The crane and concrete slabs are secure. Building inspectors took a look at it and do not believe they are at risk of falling. Lets hear what the fire captain had to say. At this time, again, our job as the Fire Department is to ensure the safety of our public. We have shared the statement thats come out from the contractors and i know there is terms in there that are stating safe and no imminent danger. A construction crisis forcing thousands to evacuate. The danger zone is in San Francisco south of market as we said around an Apartment Building under construction at 41 tehama street. All those streets are closed with the fremont street exit ramp from westbound interstate 80. In total 16 buildings have been evacuated. Dan and ama, were at second and Howard Street and behind me is 33 tehama, the residential high rice with the construction mishap this afternoon that caused a crane and concrete slab on the top floor to become unstable and both were thought to be at risk of falling. It happened at 2 45 p. M. A construction crew called 911 after a strut holding up a 30ton crane at the top center of the building failed.
