(Tribune File Photo) The Pointe aux Barques lighthouse will see its lifesaving station and captain’s quarters get refurbishments in the future thanks to a grant it received earlier this month. The lighthouse is the recipient of this year’s Evan Graham Preservation Award from the Michigan Architectural Foundation, which provides financial assistance to groups who wish to seek to preserve Michigan’s historic architecture. The lighthouse is due to receive $15,000 in the grant. ....

After hearing about other areas participating in a collective scheduled bell ringing on Christmas Eve, Corbishley thought it would be the perfect way for the community to come together and help Santa fly his sleigh. ....
