But first, you remember, this is february. we must celebrate black history month. nbc blk is highlighting black women who are making history and up lifting their communities. today we want to tell you about milly brown. founder of tears of a mother s cry in baltimore, brown founded the organization in 2007 and has helped more than 1,000 mothers cope after losing their children to violence. i can t turn my back on these mothers and these families because they need me, because there aren t many people like myself that have stepped up and stepped out to help them. so i have to keep going for them. it took a long time for me to find out or figure out what it was, but this is definitely my purpose. and i just want to be able to put a smile on some mother s face because they re hurting so much and so badly. and this is what i have to do. i m going to be doing this until the day i take my last breath. what a woman. all month long, you can check out inspiring stories like nilly s at ....
