SOUTH BEND A 17-year-old is charged with attempted murder after shooting at his ex-girlfriend s new boyfriend outside an assisted-living community in South Bend.
Prosecutors allege Milique Hobbs, of South Bend, shot Qualan Jones, 21, as Jones was picking up his girlfriend from her job at the Grand Emerald Place assisted living community.
Though he is a juvenile, Hobbs is charged in superior, or adult, court, with attempted murder, battery and criminal recklessness.
Jones and Hobbs both arrived at the retirement home on June 11, court documents say, as Jones was picking up his girlfriend from work. Jones current girlfriend is Hobbs ex-girlfriend and Hobbs appeared to be upset after Jones told him he was taking her home, according to court documents.
