Yvonne Evans emailed saying: Dear Jeff, very pleased to see that your column is continuing in the Western Telegraph with lots of interesting information. I was particularly interested in the picture of the Milford Docks area last week, but not because of the trawlers, but of the view of the cottages of Marine Gardens on the left side of the main track. My parents-in-law, Harry and Lil Evans, had rooms in one of the cottages soon after they moved to Milford Haven and then subsequently moved to Vicary Crescent when their houses were built. ....

That Reminds Me - of shire horses, renamed trawlers and Milford Haven Central School

Let s start with some feedback - here s an email from Alan Scard.
Hi Jeff, I saw your recent TRM which included a photograph of the Milford Haven Central School. It made me think of a photgraph I still have of the headmaster, Mr Ivor Phillips, presenting an award to a young lady whose name, unfortunately, I do not know.
Mr Phillips appears to be wearing a chain of office, possibly as mayor, and the photograph was taken on stage at the Astoria and dates probably from the late 1950s.
I do not know what the occasion was but I hope it might be of some interest to you. ....

Last week s Milford Grammar County Sports team created a bit of interest and prompted Brian Hearne to ring putting names to some of the faces.
As well as himself he picked out Brian Laugharne, Owen Clevely, Eileen Davies, Peter Hancock, John Wilcox, Ken Mathias, Margaret Cleaver, Mike Quigley, Govan John, Trevor Owens and Neil Lewis.

How wonderful to read your stories ! Bringing back wonderful memories of my childhood in Milford Haven. I have always felt blessed to have been brought up there. Remembering Backhouse s Music Shop. I loved music.
