Shooting in Milam County leaves one dead, injures two others (Source: Raycom Media) and last updated 2021-05-08 12:51:25-04 ROCKDALE, TX â Shortly after 1 in the morning Saturday, May 8, the Milam County Sheriff s Office responded to a shooting involving three victims just south of Rockdale. Authorities believe the shooting was because of a property dispute. Dalton Shaw, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other victims were transported to near by hospitals, their conditions are unknown at this time. The Milam County Sheriff s Office arrested and charged Israel Ballester with one count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. ....

Police: Cameron woman dies from carbon monoxide poisoning after using stove for heat (Source: Pixabay) and last updated 2021-02-21 17:15:34-05 CAMERON, TX â A 55-year-old woman has died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Milam County Sunday after using her stove for heat. According to Cameron PD Lt. Maskunas, police were dispatched around 9AM Sunday to 12th Street. The woman was using her stove for heat and the room did not have ventilation, Lt. Maskunas said. Carbon monoxide is produced by burning gasoline, propane, wood, charcoal or other fuel. If it builds up in a confined space and people breathe it in, it can replace the oxygen in their blood, causing carbon monoxide poisoning and death. ....
Man charged for allegedly assaulting Milam County deputy during arrest Source: KXXV and last updated 2021-01-31 18:14:22-05 MILAM COUNTY, TX â A Milam County Sheriffâs deputy was taken to the hospital Saturday evening after he was assaulted by a theft suspect in the Davilla area, according to Sheriff Chris White. At approximately 5:00 pm Saturday, the Milam County Sheriffâs Office received a call from a citizen reporting that a man had just stolen his dog and was walking on FM 487 towards the Davilla Cemetery. A deputy arrived and approached the man who the victim had identified. Without warning the subject immediately began to resist the deputyâs efforts to detain him. The subject began violently beating [the deputy] with his fists striking him several times in the face, Sheriff White said. ....
