Terry Foy (@TerenceFoy) Duke In my opinion, Lehigh, Denver and Georgetown are ineligible for this because the seeds don’t suggest a big enough upset. I’m so tempted to say Bryant vs. Virginia, a choice based on pedigree (remember Bryant’s win over ’Cuse in the Dome?) and the Bulldogs’ recent performance, but I think Virginia’s firepower is enough to dig them out of any hole, including being down four goals with 3:00 to play. I’m choosing the Blue Devils because I think it’s hard to get emotionally ready to play a team you beat 27-8. Keep in mind that the Panthers just inverted a 17-10 regular season loss to Richmond into an 11-8 SoCon final win. And don’t forget that Duke has a history of winning close in the first round, most recently escaping with a 12-11 win over the Spiders in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. ....

Most notably is leading Tewaaraton favorite Jared Bernhardt’s drop to the third round due to his desire to play football, as reported by Ty Xanders. Though Bernhardt’s stellar season has shown his potential to play as any of these team’s No. 1 attackman, his past as a midfielder shows his versatility as a pro that offers even more value. His football intentions certainly shook things up at the top. Moreover, top cover defenseman JT Giles-Harris and Jack Kielty have some draft stock worries with their off-field pursuits. Giles-Harris still may hold out to play football and Kielty’s desire to become a Navy SEAL is well-known, but neither fall as far as Bernhardt. ....
When Mikey Sisselberger walks out onto the field, all he sees is the ball. All the noise and chaos and movement around him and it all comes down to a ball, sitting there for him to take. “I like to not focus on anything around me besides the ball,” the Lehigh face-off star says. “They put the ball down before anything. That’s a great focal point there. You’re not focused on anything around you, the ball’s already set on the ground and you have to line up on it. “I look right at the ball, don’t focus on anything else, get down in my stance and think to myself, ‘be the quicker guy.’ … I’m just thinking, it’s my ball. You have to get the ball before you can do anything afterwards.” ....
