The Overholts said the pandemic made it difficult to travel safely, but different approaches to the pandemic strained their relationships with family in South Carolina and Florida. As a result, their children and newborn have been unable to see or meet their grandparents. The overwhelming loss of life in the past year has caused many to grapple with their own mortality and rethink their priorities. Time spent in isolation has given some people time to reflect on the relationships in their lives. While for some, their journey has been a time of emotional growth, there has also been a lot of pain in dealing with relationships that have been strained, or even fractured, because people have taken very different approaches to dealing with the threat of this coronavirus. ....

Following an inconsistent recount process which Miller-Meeks acknowledged left votes uncounted, Rita Hart has asked the U.S. House for a full and thorough recount of every ballot in the race to ensure the outcome was accurate. ....
WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - Democrat Rita Hart s campaign says a handful of voters in Iowa s Second Congressional District did everything right when casting their ballots, but their votes were not counted and thrown out by election workers. Republican Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks defeated Hart by six votes. In an interview with KWWL anchor Ron Steele on Sunday morning s edition of the Steele Report, Hart said she has evidence that 22 legally cast ballots were not counted. The campaign argues there are enough votes to overturn the outcome of the election. Of these 22 ballots, 18 of them were cast for me, 3 were cast for the Miller-Meeks campaign, and one did not vote in this race, Hart told Steele. Again it just underscores that when we look at this, we want to make sure every vote counts. ....
