You can see emeryville is a little hazy out there with High Pressure overhead, little wind. Temperatures are quite mild from the east bay to the peninsula, upper 60s to near 70. No sea breeze as of yet. The winds will pick up. Were looking at gusts near 30 miles an hour. Look at the low 70s arriving in our east bay. Today some changes at the coast as the winds pick up and create some gusty winds. Well still be cool, just in the 60s there but climbing through the 00s to around 80 in the bay and low to mid90s return inland. Enjoy the day today if you like it warm. Employee unions, jenna. Mike and julie, the union tells me that they are preparing federal workers for this possibility that they might be working but not get their paychecks. And they say all americans could suffer with to services if congress cant reach a deal. Congress is facing a budget crisis that could push the nation into a Government Shutdown by saturday. On monday, House Speaker Kevin Mccarthy voiced optimism that a handful of republican holdouts might finally agree to a compromise. Apparently, theyre willing to work now. Mccarthy and moderate republicans had worked out a deal with democrats, but faced open revolt by republican hardliners led by florida congressman matt gaetz and fueled by former president donald trump, who over the weekend sent on social media. Unless you get everything, shut it down. The House Speaker blasted that idea on monday. Why would they want to stop paying the troops or stop paying the Border Agents or the coast guard . Runner who just passed mile 21. There he is going down market street, and take a look at the route, im sorry, mission street, and we want to take a quick look to show you the arduous, difficult route these runners have to go through. Its 26. 2 miles, of course, and starts and finishes on the embarcadero, and besides crossing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, runners spend about 5 miles twisting around Golden Gate Park. We sent our crew to check out the scene before the race kicks off and you can see people stretching, and getting ready to tackle the hills of the city. One runner told us its a marathon that cant be topped. The people and the crowd. And the scenery. The scenery, you cannot beat this. You cannot beat it. You have to do it. If youre a runner, you have to come to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. She and about 27,000 others are running some or all of the course here today. The fire started along manning road near highland avenue, threatening a ranch for a time as it burned toward interstate 580 before crews contained the blaze at roughly 150 acres.
