2019 Missouri River flood/file photo By BRENT MARTINSt. Joseph PostWork continues to restore levees broken by the 2019 Missouri River flood, four years after the devastating flood.Mike Dulin with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Kansas City says work has been completed to repair a major levee in Holt County damaged by the flood, the Holt County #9 Levee.Four major levee projects remain."One on the Kansas side, just a little upstream of Topeka, and then three over on the Missouri side along the Missouri River at various locations; one north of Kansas City, one in central Missouri near Brunswick, and then one down in Warren County," Dulin tells a conference call held by the Corps of Engineers. "But I would expect to have those four remaining projects, construction wrapped up prior to the end of this calendar year, if not just after."The 2019 Missouri River flood did extensive damage throughout the Missouri River basin, from Omaha all the way to St. Louis.
