A 200-acre ATV Park south of Mulberry will more than double in size once Polk County completes an expansion project slated to begin soon.
Bone Valley ATV Park, located on the south side of County Road 630 and east of State Road 37, currently features 15 trails, hill climbs and free-riding areas. The county plans to extend the park 300 acres to the north in order to add tracks, camping facilities and more trails.
Construction is expected to take 18 months, county officials say. Bartow-based Bul-Hed Corp. has been tabbed to clear the land as part of a $487,000 contract with the county.
But local taxpayers won’t be on the hook for that cost.
