Kewanee s Midland Shopping Center tenants wonder what s next at Cohen development

When a construction crew showed up last month to start work on the new Arby s in Kewanee, it was a surprise to curious residents driving by.
It was also a surprise to the tenants of Midland Plaza, many of whom, as of late last week, still hadn t been contacted by the shopping center s management to learn what is next for its planned redevelopment.
Several store managers contacted by the Star Courier said they had received no communication about the Arby s development or any other plans that Cohen Development has for Midland. Repeated calls to owner Les Cohen have gone unreturned.
